A calm, capable home for studying
Orpheus brings exam writing, fair marking and revision into one polished workspace, for students, teachers and tutors alike.
Why “Orpheus”?
In Greek myth, Orpheus played the lyre so beautifully that rivers paused to listen and stones followed him up hills. His music didn't force anything. It made the hard thing feel effortless. That's the promise we hold this product to: studying that pulls you along instead of pushing you.
When his song ended, the gods set his lyre among the stars as the constellation Lyra, the small parallelogram of stars beneath brilliant Vega that you'll see drawn in our opening animation, and hidden faintly in the corners of this site.
What you can do
Exam Generator
Build complete Maths, Chemistry and English papers: multiple choice, short and long answers, with answer keys, marking rubrics and properly typeset mathematics. Export a clean PDF and mark scheme, or sit the paper interactively.
Response Marker
Mark a written response against a rubric and get a fair grade with reasoning, specific strengths, concrete improvements and a model answer, from typed text or a photo of handwritten work.
Flashcards & spaced repetition
Make decks by hand or generate them from notes, import your existing Anki decks, then revise with spaced repetition, a daily due queue, read-aloud and progress tracking.
Live Writing Editor
Write in a full, distraction-free page and get live feedback as you go. Grammar, clarity, style and word choice are highlighted in place, each with a one-tap fix.
AI Tutor & notes tools
A patient step-by-step tutor, handwriting scanned to clean text, lectures recorded straight into structured notes, and any topic turned into an explorable mind map.
Whiteboard with AI marking
Work through problems freehand on an infinite canvas, then have your handwritten working marked in place, maths and chemistry included.
Planner, dashboard & achievements
A planner that schedules spaced revision around your exam dates, a dashboard tracking streaks, mastery and scores, and achievements that keep the habit going.
Classes for teachers
Create a class, share a join code, and set any saved exam as an assignment. Students take it interactively; written answers are marked automatically, with per-student and per-question analytics.
Sharing & a community gallery
Share any exam or deck with a read-only link, or list it in the public gallery, and browse what other students have made to study from straight away.
Who it's for
Revise smarter with spaced repetition, targeted practice on your weak spots, and a dashboard that tracks streaks, mastery and exam scores over time.
Generate rigorous papers in seconds, mark consistently against your own criteria, and run classes with live results and question-by-question analytics.
Turn any notes, a textbook page, a PDF or a Word document into a practice exam or a deck of flashcards, and study it your way.
What we believe
Four principles decide every feature we ship, and plenty we don't.
Calm over clutter
Studying is hard enough without a noisy interface. Soft glass panels, gentle motion and generous space. Nothing flashes, nags or gamifies your attention away.
Rigour over gimmicks
An exam is only useful if it's a real exam: correct notation, sensible mark allocations, rubrics an examiner would recognise. We hold every generation to that bar.
Fairness you can inspect
A mark without reasoning is just a number. Every grade comes with its justification against the rubric, so you can see exactly why, and disagree if you should.
Your work is yours
Everything you make is saved to your account, exportable as PDFs and files, and shareable strictly on your terms. It stays private until you say otherwise.
How Orpheus was made
Orpheus started from a simple belief: studying and assessment should feel intelligent and unhurried, never cluttered or childish. The goal was a tool that helps you make a real exam paper, get fair and useful feedback, and revise efficiently, all in the same place.
It was built as a modern full-stack web application. The interface uses soft glass panels, gentle gradients and subtle motion, with a rainbow Orpheus logo and a calm blue palette. Every part of the experience can be customised, from colours and fonts to card styles and animations.
Under the surface, Orpheus runs on Orpheus AI, our own intelligence layer. Every request runs on the server, never in your browser. Start free with a monthly allowance of AI generations, or go Pro for unlimited use, longer writing, and unlimited whiteboards with AI marking.
Still improving, week after week
93 updates and counting- v1.92Real images on flashcards, and more tools that read your photos· July 2026

- v1.91A warmer welcome for new accounts· July 2026
New accounts now open to a short welcome on the dashboard that points to a first practice paper, so your first visit ends with something to study from rather than a blank page
- v1.90A help and FAQ hub, and a friendlier 404· July 2026
A new Help page gathers the common questions in one place: what Orpheus does, whether it is free, how generations work, privacy, and running a class

Everything you make is private until you create a share link or list it in the gallery yourself, and you can unshare at any time.
